Mashed Cannabis Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are an all time delicacy, and constitute a staple food for many communities worldwide. For the Cannabis family, this has been made even better with the addition of Cannabis to the recipe for mashed potatoes. You can enjoy this dish with a wide variety of stews, depending on your preference. Vegetarians are also catered for since there are sweet vegetable stews which one may prepare. You may want to add some proteins to the dish since potatoes only contain starch, a form of complex carbohydrates. A desert after the mal of mashed potatoes will ensure that you have a balanced diet.

The main ingredient for this recipe is 5 large potatoes. The preferred varieties of potato to be used are the Russet Potatoes or the Yukon gold potatoes. Make sure you wash the potatoes well to eliminate the risk of toxicity due to any pesticides that may have been used on the plant. Peel the clean potatoes, and chop them into cubes. Other ingredients include 4 big cloves of garlic and 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. There are a number of spices that can be used in this recipe to bring out different flavors.

These spices include 1 tablespoon of thyme, 1 tablespoon of salt, one tablespoon of black pepper and half cup of heavy cream. The cream may be substituted with cannacream or cannamilk. This is simply milk which has been infused with Cannabis. The purpose of the cream is to create a smooth texture as well as to allow the potatoes to mash well. With all the ingredients ready, you can now start preparing your meal. Begin by chopping off the top of the garlic, and dab some olive oil over the cut heads. With the now oily-garlic heads, seal them in foil paper and roast them.

Roasting should be carried out on an oven that has been pre-heated to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the garlic heads roast for slightly below an hour. Check whether they are ready by using a fork. When well roasted, the heads are tender so the fork will go through. As this is going on, prepare the potatoes by putting them to boil in salted water. Ensure you add the salt prior to boiling. Failure to do this results in addition of salt at the table, which is not only unhealthy, but impractical for this kind of a dish.

The potatoes are ready when, just like the garlic heads, are soft to the fork. Drain the water because the potatoes will have absorbed the salt. Mash the potatoes gently as you add the cannabutter bit by bit. Add the rest of the condiments: thyme, pepper, salt, cream and cheese. Mash the mixture until it is smooth. Follow this through by squeezing the roasted garlic into the mash, and whipping it until it is well blended. To diversify your meals, add some bacon to give a crunchy taste; or you may choose to boil the potatoes with the skin on for a different taste.
