(NaturalNews) It appears the U.S. government is officially declaring war on cancer by launching a major bureaucratic initiative aimed at sending cancer research to the moon. In a moment of suspiciously bi-partisan cooperation, both sides of the political aisle of the 114th United States Congress came together to pass House Resolution (H.R.) 34, the 21st... [...]

One thing I find aggravating is the fact that CBD oil was available for sale on amazon a year or two ago, and now it's gone. Why? I thought it was legal? Oh. I just found this. Apparently it's only legal in 15 states. This is very strange because I thought CBD was not federally controlled (ie: not on the DEA schedule), so only cannabis-derived CBD was illegal as it would likely contain minute amounts of THC. This is how they are able to continue to sell hemp-oil which contains CBD, federally. Is CBD too far removed from delta9THC to fall under the analogue-act? If so, it's non-psychotropic, so then everything else that's non-psychotropic in cannabis would also be illegal along with endocannabinoids produced in your brain, which means all sorts of other substances in for example butter would be illegal too by transitive equality. I thought the line was drawn with psychotropic substancesas outlined by the UN 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, to inform country policy on what was [...]

A common sugar found in drinks such as Coke and food like ketchup, cereal bars and biscuits could be driving breast cancer, scientists warn.
The high-sugar Western diet may increase the risk of breast cancer and the potential for that cancer to spread to the lungs, the new study suggests.
Researchers found that when mice were given a sucrose-rich diet, similar to our own diet in the West, the mice showed increased levels of tumour growth and metastasis, when the cancer spreads.
• One drink a day increases the risk of breast cancer by 15 per cent
They also found that fructose in table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup found in a range of foods and drinks could be driving the disease.
Scientists at the University of Texas MD Anderson Centre gave groups of mice one of four different diets and found that at six months old, 30 per cent of those raised on starch-controlled diets had measurable tumours.
Of those mice which had been raised on a sucrose-enriched diet, 50 to 58 per cent had developed breast cancer.
"We found that sucrose intake in mice comparable to levels of Western diets led to increased tumour growth and metastasis, when compared to a non-sugar starch diet."
Dr Peiying Yang
The study, published in the online edition of the Cancer Research journal, also showed that cancers in mice on high sucrose or fructose diet were more likely to spread than those on starch-controlled diets.
One of the authors of the study, Professor Lorenzo Cohen, said: "We determined that it was specifically fructose, in table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup, ubiquitous within our food system, which was responsible for facilitating lung metastasis and 12-HETE production in breast tumours."
Co-author Dr Peiying Yang said that she believed this was the first study to investigate the direct effect of sugar consumption and effect on the development of breast cancer.
She added: "We found that sucrose intake in mice comparable to levels of Western diets led to increased tumour growth and metastasis, when compared to a non-sugar starch diet."
Both authors said that identifying the risk factors for breast cancer was a public health priority.

Until early last year, the website of a Brooklyn-based charity called the National Children’s Leukemia Foundation boasted that the organization had its own “biomedical cancer research center” where “leading scientists” were working on cancer treatments. A PowerPoint slide that the group’s founder, Zvi Shor, used in a presentation showed an office building where the research center was said to be located, with the words “Biomedical Cancer Research Center” across the side of the building.
Shor has now admitted that the group had no research center, nor any of its own scientists. A half-million dollar grant to an organization controlled by Shor’s sister in Israel had bought space a building in Petah Tikva, Israel, but no lab was built there. The picture on the PowerPoint slide? A Photoshopped fake.
In a settlement announced today by the office of New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Shor admitted that many of NCLF’s claims about the good work it did were empty. Instead, 85% of the $9.7 million it raised between 2009 and 2013 went to cover fundraising costs.
Under the terms of the settlement, which ends a lawsuit filed this July by the Attorney General’s office against NCLF and its officers,, the charity will now be dissolved. Its executives have agreed to pay back $380,000, and Shor and his son Shlomo Shor will be barred from ever again acting as an officer or director of any charity that raises money in the United States.
Schneiderman’s office sued NCLF and its officers in June, alleging that the group had used the “vast majority” of $10 million it had raised for “non-charitable purposes.” Shor admitted, as part of the settlement, that many of the programs that NCLF told donors and the public that it operated were either blown vastly out of proportion, or had never existed.
While phone solicitations and mailers boasted of an NCLF program that granted “the last wishes of children with cancer,” the group admitted that, between July 2009 and March 2014, only two “wishes” were granted: One for a laptop, another for a drip to Disney World. And while the group’s website claimed that it ran a bone marrow registry, Shor admitted to investigators that that wasn’t true.
Shor also admitted that claims on the group’s website, in a fundraising brochure, and in the PowerPoint presentation that it was running a “Cancer Research Center” were false. Some of the $655,00 money that NCLF sent to the Israeli group run by Shor’s sister did fund research at Ariel University in the occupied West Bank, [...]
As cannabis is taken more seriously as a medicine and a treatment, more people are taking a chance and using it as a treatment for terminal illnesses. This treatment has had overwhelmingly positive results for countless people who had no other hope of recovery. Every day more stories and scientific studies are appearing from all over the world where people of all ages, even young children, are cured of life-threatening illnesses with cannabis oil.
More often than not, these patients face legal penalties and even jail time for trying to better their lives. In the case of parents with children who have terminal illnesses, they are forced to break laws to get their kids the treatment that they need.
The father of a 2-year-old with late-stage cancer is facing jail time for using cannabis oil in an attempt to ease his daughter’s suffering.
Adam Koessler of Queensland, Australia is one of these parents who is facing potential prison time for attempting to save his child’s life with cannabis oil. Koessler’s 2-year-old daughter was diagnosed with stage-4 neuroblastoma; and when chemo was not working, he began giving her doses of cannabis oil after reading about how well it did for other people. Instantly he noticed remarkable results and an extreme improvement in her condition.
“The results were amazing, what we saw when Rumer was given the medical cannabis oil what nothing short of miraculous. Her cancer ridden little body was alive again — Rumer had almost instant quality of life…Her skin color came back, her eyes were sparkling again…We were certain after seeing these results that her recovery was entirely possible,” Koessler said.
Sadly, the hospital contacted the police and told them about what was happening, and they quickly arrested Koessler at the hospital for
possessing ‘dangerous drugs’ and for supplying them to a minor. After he was released on bail the terms of his release prevented him from seeing his daughter and they have removed him from any involvement in his daughter’s treatment.
He has attempted to send his daughter organic meals so she is more healthy to fight the cancer, but the meals have been rejected from the hospital and they prevent her from receiving them.
A petition demanding that the government drop the charges against Koessler and allow him to see his daughter has received over 201,928 supporters, and his case has caught the attention of people all over the world.
Koessler attempted to see his daughter again last week and was denied by the staff at the hospital.
Although the government and law enforcement are at the root of this problem by continuing to wage the war on drugs, the hospital and their staff have played a major role in this incident. In their arrogance, they rejected the possibility of a natural cure and have used the enforcement arm of the government to prevent these potential cures from being explored.
Those who would keep a potentially life-saving medicine from a suffering 2-year-old chi [...]
The scientific evidence for cannabis being a medicinal plant is now overwhelming, the data shows that…cannabis cures cancer.
With medical marijuana now becoming legal in many places, thousands of people are being treated and cured from their ailments through the use of cannabis.
One of these being the ability for cannabis to treat and even cure many cancers, as Rick Simpson has shown.
With a growing number of people around the world being successfully treated and cured, the push for more research and acceptance has increased.
Cannabis cures cancer
It should be no surprise that nature hold the cure to our many ailments. The fact that a large majority of the medicine we use today comes from the Amazon should give us a clue that the answer to our diseases is in nature.
Whilst Big Pharma would like to synthesise these plants so they can patent them and charge you a ridiculous markup, taking them in their natural form or as close to is how they work their ‘magic’.
Below is a list of documented and reputable medical studies showing that cannabis is successful is fighting multiple forms of cancer. [...]
More than 84,000 chemicals are used in household products, cosmetics, food, and food packaging, and a majority of these have never been tested for safety
The chemical industry has a long history of political power and influence. Chemical corporations also control and manipulate the science by funding research that downplays, contradicts, or casts doubt on health hazards
The scientific field of toxicology minimizes the risks of toxic chemicals by relying on physiologically based pharmacokinetic simulations that do not reveal a chemical’s effect on biological processes [...]

Cancer is on the rise, and at a staggering rate. In the United States alone, the American Cancer Society estimates that in 2015 there will be more than 1.5 million new cancer cases. The same organization estimates that 1 in 3 women and 1 in every 2 men are at a risk of developing cancer at some point in their lives.
Sadly, we continue to discover that diet and food are likely culprits in the rise of cancer.
In October 2015, a team of 22 scientists from ten countries gathered at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is part of the World Health Organization (WHO), to evaluate the carcinogenicity of the consumption of processed and red meats. Following their evaluation, the Agency placed consuming processed meat, such as bacon, sausage, hot dogs and bologna, into the same category of cancer causing activities (Group 1) as tobacco smoking and asbestos exposure. Red meat was categorized in the same group as inorganic lead (Group 2A). The full list of compounds and activities with suspected, probable or certain links to cancer can be found here.
The WHO group “classified consumption of processed meat as ‘carcinogenic to humans’ on the basis of sufficient evidence for colorectal cancer.” Colorectal cancer is the second most lethal form of cancer in the U.S., causing nearly 50,000 deaths per year. Processed meat was also linked to a higher incidence of stomach cancer.
Red meat carries a slightly lower risk, the group says, but is still “probably carcinogenic to humans.” Aside from the “strong mechanistic evidence” related to colorectal cancer, the “consumption of red meat was also positively associated with pancreatic and with prostate cancer. – PBS.org
The investigation comprised of an assessment of 800 epidemiological studies from across the world, examining the association between 16 types of cancer and the consumption of red and processed meats. One of the studies referenced found that colorectal cancer risk increases by 18% for every 50 grams of processed meat eaten per day, and by 17% for every 100 grams of red meat consumed in a day. The IARC published its final report in the journal Lancet Oncology.
WHO’s announcement is likely to face strong criticism from the food industry, especially in the United States, which produces over 50 billion pounds of red meat each year. Yet, this new assessment falls in line with previous warnings put forth by others. The World Cancer Research Fund states:
To reduce your bowel cancer risk, we advise eating no more than 500g (cooked weight) per week of red meat, like beef, pork and lamb, and eating processed meats like ham, bacon and salami as little as possible.
The American Cancer Society states:
One key difference between the new [United States] government guidelines and the Society’s is that the USDA guidelines do not recommend limiting red and processed meats. Because of a wealth of studies linking colon cancer to diets h [...]
The medical uses of cannabis and its derivatives are continuing to be discovered at an astonishing rate. This is despite the fact that U.S. government clings to an absurd, baseless classification of cannabis as a Schedule I drug, which severely limits research and scientific advancement.
We recently reported on two rather surprising fields that could benefit from medical cannabis, as well as clinical data that backs its use for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The diversity of medical uses for cannabis lies in its ability to stimulate cannabinoid receptors in the brain, which are fundamental to the proper functioning of physiological systems.
A survey of 446 patients with traumatic brain injuries was carried out by the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (La BioMed). The results, reported in The American Surgeon, found a strong association between cannabis use and survival of the trauma.
“Previous studies conducted by other researchers had found certain compounds in marijuana helped protect the brain in animals after a trauma,” said David Plurad, MD, an LA BioMed researcher and the study’s lead author. “This study was one of the first in a clinical setting to specifically associate THC use as an independent predictor of survival after traumatic brain injury.”
There is strong rationale for conducting clinical trials on trauma patients using medical cannabis. The case was bolstered by Israeli researchers, who found that the timely application of cannabinoids can prevent negative effects of PTSD.
Administering synthetic marijuana (cannabinoids) soon after a traumatic event can prevent PTSD-like (post-traumatic stress disorder) symptoms in rats, caused by the trauma and by trauma reminders.
Dr. Irit Akirav had discovered in previous studies that administering cannabinoids within a certain time window after a traumatic event reduces PTSD symptoms. The more recent study found that cannabis made the effects of trauma reminders “disappear.”
Another important finding of the study is that cannabinoid substances are better at treating PTSD than SSRI antidepressants, which bring a host of negative side-effects including violent tendencies.
Other research is showing more potential for medical cannabis to treat problems of the mind.
Cannabinoids may reduce depression that results from [...]
