With all the news and current events sprouting all over the world, there is one thing which was realized: nothing is perfectly safe to consume. Mind you, this is a very serious realization because these revelations will greatly affect the entire world’s lifestyles and all those stuff.

Right now, we cannot deny that we are really dependent on products because they’ve become close to our hearts, and they practically address our everyday hygiene, food, security and clothing requirements. Frustrating!

Anyways, there is a recent exposure involving shampoos that contain a compound that causes cancer. Let’s find that out over here.

Center for Environmental Health (CEH) in Oakland, California recently studied about compounds on shampoos and soaps. This involves 100 brands of shampoos. Well, even your favorite shampoo brand can be part of the experiment. Look closely.

Scientists found out that 98 of 100 products contained cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA) Cocamide DEA is known to be a potentially carcinogenic compound–meaning, it can trigger cancerous cells in the body to be activated and spread.

Executive Director of CEH Michael Green spoke about the study. He pointed out that companies will continue to claim that these products are safe enough but it cannot be denied that their shampoos contain such harmful compounds.

Companies are expected to act upon these findings, and make suitable solutions to address this possible health threat. This will really be a huge problem in the long run, especially when they are accumulated and are overly used by consumers.

This is the complete list of those products found to contain cocamide DEA, 1 of 5. 2 of 5 3 of 5 4 of 5 5 of 5

Do not worry because for the meantime, we have an alternative shampoo for you! You can actually make your homemade shampoo by simply combining 2/3 cup of Castile soap, 10-15 drops of essential oil, two tbsp almond or olive oil, and 1/2 cup of coconut milk and situating them into a shampoo container. Just shake all the ingredients well to ensure that they’re perfectly synced. Then, that’s good for use.
